Unexpected

In an ever changing world, the one thing that we can truly prepare for is the unexpected.

Just when you thought you had it all planned out and had the next five years of your life booked, life tosses a wrench at you and next thing you know you’re on the floor, confused, trying to figure out what happens next? Where do I go from here?

Jeremiah 29:11-13 says this “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

The truth is, there’s no reason to be worried because God’s got this. Thankfully, we serve a God who has incredible plans for our lives and as long as we trust Him and have faith in His provisions then He will do great things with your life. Remember though, sometimes what we want doesn’t necessarily match with what God has planned for our live but if we have faith then we’ll see that His direction is far greater than our simple minded perspective.

When Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers, He had no idea that God would at some point use him to save Egypt, all he could see at that moment was his current situation but despite not knowing God’s plan for his life and despite being met with the unexpected he still trusted and had faith that God knew what He was doing. Even though you may be confused at the moment God sees the big picture. Trust Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says this “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

There’s nothing wrong with making plans or preparations but don’t be surprised the next time you are met with the unexpected. Give those moments to God and trust Him. Don’t let the unexpected push you into a state of fear but rather allow it to draw you closer to God. Stop trying to take matters into your own hands because sometimes you’ll end up making matters worse. God created you, He knew you long before you were born therefor He knows what is best for your life. Trust Him.
