Sinner

I am a sinner but I am not and will not be defined by my sins.

You and I are born with a sin nature and because of that our natural instinct isn’t to please God but to please our own flesh Psalms 51:5 says this “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” Because of this sin nature we are going to make mistakes, we are going to fail, we are going to lie, we are going to disobey, we are going to hurt and we are going to get hurt.

But it doesn’t have to end there.

Because of the precious grace of God, we don’t have to continue living in sin, we don’t have to to hurt and in Him we are not alone. The truth is, even as child of God you are going to fail at times; you will still get hurt and as much as you don’t want to, you are going to sin but when you repent and go to God with your sins and troubles He hears your prayers and HE FORGIVES.

1 John 1:9 says this “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Let the world condemn you, let them call you names, let them hurt you and attack you because the more they come at you the more you begin to see God’s love and power working in your life. The world seeks to devour and attack but God chooses to love, listen and forgive.

Luke 6:22-23 says this “Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.”

This is not to say that we ought to intentionally put ourselves in situations where we seek to hurt, disobey, hate or lie to one another. God reminds us that when we pursue a relationship with Him our sin will be made known Numbers 32:23 says this “But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out." To be closer to Him you must first let go of the sin that’s holding you back. Therefor rather than seeking after sin or attacking one another put aside your selfish world desires and chose to sharpen one another mold each other, pray for each other, be honest, love and respect one another.

It is not our place to judge one an others actions or assumptions James 5:9 says this “Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.” Yes, unfortunately, even as Christians we may still end up hurting one another but attacking, shaming, judging is not how Christ desires for His children to act. If we are to live Christ-like our behavior should be the same. We are to love as He did, forgive as He did, speak truth as He did, strive to live a sinless life as He did and have a desire to help one another with the Word of God and prayer.

I am a sinner, but I am forgiven and saved by the grace of God.
