Let Go

Right now there's something grasping hold of your life, preventing you from hearing the voice of God.

Something you're resisting to let go of that has unknowingly, been tearing you down. It’s become so much a part of you that you’ve started ignoring it..

You’ve talked it up in your mind, focused on the positives and ignored the negative destructive affects it has, not just in your relationship with God but in your entire life. Rather than controlling it you're allowing it to control you.

Are you willing to give it all away in order to serve God? It's time to let go. It’s time to open your eyes and realize that once you put ANYTHING before God it becomes an idol. Once you love something more than God it's an idol. Once you desire something more than God it’s an idol.

Exodus 20:3 says “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

The moment you make something or someone a priority above God, you begin to lose ALL sight of what truly matters; you lose sight of your purpose. The presence of God within your life becomes hazy. What you chose to hide within your heart is vital in your walk with God. Don’t let your personal agenda, distractions, temptations, work or even your friends and family keep you from serving God!

How can you, in good conscience, accept Christ into your life and then treat it poorly with the filth you take in and the lies you put out? How can you one moment praise God and then turn your back on Him in secret? Respect the life God gave you!

Romans 12:1-2 says “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

God desires to use you as a light but how can He if you're not fully devoted unto Him? How can you expect God to bless your life if you aren’t making Him a priority? Stop thinking of yourself first, all you're doing is pushing the Lord further away. Your agenda is NOT more important than God's calling for your life.

Mark 12:30 says “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”

Whatever it is that’s holding you back, it's time to let it go and give it to God! It’s never too late to remove any negative substance from your life. Fall on your knees; ask God to help change your ways and carry you through. He is almighty, loving and a forgiving God. Ask Him to help remove anything from your life that you have placed as a priority and surrender yourself unto Him. If you TRULY love the Lord with all your heart, you’ll clean out your life and stop making yourself a priority.

Psalm 119:11 says “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

The battle doesn’t end once we make the decision to serve God. The devil will try to attack and pull you down BUT our God is greater and our God is stronger. Prepare your soul by hiding His Word in your heart and attack with scripture. Pray fervently. Read the Bible consistently. Worship wholeheartedly. Serve at church faithfully. All of this will not only help you grow and mature in your relationship with God but will protect your heart from yourself and those who try to hurt you!

Psalm 100: 2-5 says “Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”

God created you NOT for your own self glory but you were created for HIS purpose. He created you to serve Him and He has commanded us to go out into the world and share His love. Christ loves you and wants to live within your heart. He wants to make a difference in the world by first making a difference in your life. Today is the day to open your heart and change your ways. Lay out your burdens before God, repent, and choose to follow Him; devoting your life and your time to fulfilling His promises!
