Breath of Fresh Air

Throughout life there will come a time when we need to take a step back and reflect in order to move forward into a healthy relationship with God.

We are all born with a self-pleasing human nature. Rather than following a path created by God we choose to go down our own path because we believe that we know what is better for our lives, we are coerced by the world into thinking that we can be “happy” if we have all that we want, or we let our own thoughts and desires get in the way of God’s purpose.

The truth is, we simply do not know what is best for our lives, only God does. He created us, therefor he knows you and I better than anyone else, including yourself.

Taking a step back and looking at your life can help you realize whether your thoughts, actions and desires are ones that are pleasing to God. Evaluating your life through the heart of God and by His Word can give you the strength you need to put away all that poorly affects your relationship with Him therefor making your faith stronger as you begin to see the path He laid out for you.

We simply cannot have a healthy, strong and active relationship with God where He lives and breathes within you, one that grows on a daily basis, that motivates, inspires and encourages you, a relationship that is truly lead by faith and absent of fear, this kind of relationship with God only exists when we choose to actively pursue Him, it comes when we rid our lives of toxic habits, people, actions and thoughts. Our desire to love and serve God should be stronger than our desire to please ourselves.

Ephesians 8:5-6 says this “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

Your relationship with God, is the only thing that matters; through this relationship you will be able to conquer fear, overcome adversity, learn to love as God loves and live in hope. Give yourself some time to step back, breathe in fresh air and seek the Lord; allow Him to change your life and give you a heart that desires to pursue Him!
