Living With Anxiety

Anxiety, fear and worry creep their way into your life when God is slipping away.

Anxiety is an active struggle in my life. It is an emotion I am aware that I possess, have learned to cope with and continue to understand the older I grow. The one thing I’ve learned the most in my years with anxiety, is when God is absent from my life, fear and anxiety begin to take over.

Anxiety, fear and worry creep their way into your life when God is slipping away. Not spending time in the Word or prayer, being angry with a friend or family member, living in sin can all harden your heart to the things of God and therefor keep His presence out of your life. We cannot overcome fear and anxiety until we first reconcile and pursue an active relationship with God. When we cut out things in our life that are toxic to our relationship with God we then begin to draw closer to Him and through that relationship begin to overcome adversity!

1 Peter 5:6-8 says this “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

When we humble ourselves and let go of the sin that is hindering our relationship with God, we begin to draw closer to Him. God cares for you and loves you, He does not wish for you to live in a state of fear but rather to be faithful and to trust Him. If God brought you to the storm He will carry you through but for Him to do so we must be right with Him! There’s no way we can have a solid relationship with God if our hearts are not right with Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says this “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Trust God. Let go of your sin. Stop letting devil win and ask God to help you overcome temptation! When we repent and let go, God begins to take control of our life and when He is in control things like anxiety, fear and worry become non-existent. Our hearts full of faith and we have comfort in the fact that God is in control. He will carry you through the storm!
