God is Good

In the last few weeks our world has seen chaos and pandemic like most have not experienced in their lifetime. In my personal life I recently suffered a car accident that has left me stranded at home and at some point I may need to consider a new living situation but despite the turmoil and uncertainties this one simple truth still remains that our God is good.

Nahum 1:7 says this "The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him."

I don’t know what it’s like to be in any of your shoes and will never be able to truly comprehend the gravity of your unique situations but I know this to be true, that when we let go of the control we have of our own life and completely surrender to God, His incredible work begins to take action in our life. God is perfect therefor His timing is perfect and His love for you is measureless. When you let go control and allow Him to work, I guarantee you that your fears and anxieties will diminish.

Now I know you’re probably thinking to yourself “if I’m prepared and I have my life in control then I will be safe and can take care of myself” and the truth of the matter is, this life is absolutely unpredictable and while you may think you’ve prepared for the worst life will undoubtably throw a wrench your way and throw everything off balance and the only way you’ll be able to survive the madness is by giving total control to God.

What does surrendering total control to God look like? It’s having faith. Faith that stems from a personal, intimate relationship with Christ. It’s trusting that despite the turmoil and wrenches thrown your way God’s got your back. It’s choosing to have hope rather than panic and focusing on growing in a stronger relationship with Him by fasting, praying and seeking His guidance. When it comes down to it, our God knows you and your present needs more than you know yourself. Trust Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says this “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

When your faith is strong and your relationship with Him becomes the center of your focus, His vision for your future will become clear. You begin to see and experience His divine work in your life. The purpose of the turmoil become clear and your uncertainties become a step of faith rather than a wrench in your life. Through the good and the bad, the weight of your faith in Christ will ultimately be what determines your outlook. Don’t let your faith be shaken.

Believe it or not my friends, but this is just the beginning, the world we once knew has been completely shaken. Rather than relying on yourself or the media for hope, trust in the Lord. It is only when you surrender your control and reach out to Christ that you will truly experience faith. You don’t need toilet paper and hand sanitizer to survive all you need is Jesus.
