Wonderfully Made

God did not create you to be just like everyone else, His intention was not to have a bunch of clones roaming around on this earth.

I recently came across a quote from Theodore Roosevelt that goes like this “Comparison is the thief of joy.” I couldn’t help but begin to ponder more about this quote and how true it’s become in this day and age, where social media and relationships have given us a false understanding of who we are expected to be.

God did not create you to be just like everyone else, His intention was not to have a bunch of clones roaming around on this earth. So why do we try so hard to seek after this fabricated desire of being someone we’re not? What does someone have so much that we can’t appreciate all the good that God has done in our own lives?

Psalm 139:1 & 14 says this “O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.” and “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

Don’t you think that a God who truly KNOWS you wants the best for you? Our God is perfect therefor His work is perfect, as a child of God, you were created perfectly! You, yourself, as an individual were created perfectly. Everything about you, things that you may find to be imperfections are all a part of what makes you unique!

Stop letting the world tell you who you ought to be. You are perfect just the way you are in the eyes of God. The more we compare ourselves to the world, the more we lose sight of the person God made us to be. He has a unique plan for your life and when we keep our eyes focused on Him we begin to see our true identity. So the next time you look in the mirror or take a selfie embrace the beauty and the handiwork of God because you are fearfully and wonderfully made!
