Our Foundation

There is no foundation, no fortress stronger than in the arms of our Lord. He is our protector our strength; when we place our faith in Him, He is sure to deliver us out of the darkness and into His care.

Psalm 18:2 says this โ€œThe Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.โ€

As children of God we are to keep Christ at center of our life, by doing so we are fully devoting our every thought, action and ability in bringing Him honor and glory. But if we chose to follow our own path and neglect Christ as the center then we are sure to end up on a path of destruction and misery. God brings us hope and purpose but if weโ€™re living for ourselves then we will simply be wandering aimlessly with no purpose. A foundation needs to be sturdy and solid and as humans we are emotional and unsteady therefor we CANNOT be a solid foundation, we NEED Christ in our life.

As a certain hymn says:

โ€On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.โ€

Any and all other ground that we choose to plant our feet in, including our own, is as sinking sand. We need the solid foundation of Christ in our life. With that foundation comes hope, purpose and peace. Not in the sense that we will never experience struggle or hurt but that when those times come we remain planted on a solid ground of love that will not crumble but carry us through.

Seek after the Lord, keep Him as the core of your life and let the solid foundation of our God be what lifts you up and gives you hope!
