Get Up

Can you imagine if while on His way to the cross Jesus gave up? Or while being tempted in the desert, He gave into the temptation? Can you imagine if during any part of His ministry He simply said I’ve had enough?

Just like you Jesus had His share of challenges yet nothing stopped Him from doing the Work of God. No matter what situation or trial came His way, He had faith and continued to do the work of God. He got up and pressed on because He had a mission; He knew He had purpose.

No matter what you are going through or pain you’re experiencing you have a choice. You have the ability to determine how you will allow that situation to affect you. You can either get up or give up. You can either move forward or fall back. You can either numb the pain or embrace it. No matter what, know this, just like Jesus had a purpose on this earth you aren’t here by accident. You too have a purpose!

I’ve been there. I’ve experienced great pain and at one point I thought it was over. I felt like there was no point in getting up and the only answer was to numb the pain. I was wrong. I was only hurting myself and pushing everyone away even those who tried to help. Thankfully, God doesn’t give up, He saved me and let me tell you the moment you begin to embrace your scars and allow God to heal your pain, you’ll experience love like you’ve never known.

Ephesians 6:10 says this “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”

There’s no better example of how we ought to live our lives than following in the footsteps of Jesus. The Bible gives us a clear example of how we are to handle every situation, trial or temptation. Whatever you’re going through you don’t have to go through it alone, open the Bible and allow God to fill your heart with truth and hope. There is power in the Word and in prayer.

Stop allowing yourself to feel defeated, stop numbing the pain and start seeking God. Nothing you’ve done is too great for our God, He loves and forgives so let go of your stubbornness and grab a hold of Him. Get up and move on. The next time a trial comes your way be prepared and go through it with God. You are not alone!
