The Reason for Every Season

Jesus is the reason, not just for this season but for all eternity!

Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year, not because of the presents or the time we treasure with the ones we love but because it’s a day that marks the birth of Jesus, our Lord and our Savior!

Unlike like last year I decided not to wait till mid-July to take down my Christmas tree but chose a day in January. At first I began to feel a sense of sadness as though the essence of the holiday was being taken away but at that same moment I gained a sense of relief as I remembered that while we may not celebrate Christmas year round the hope and truth of the birth of Jesus is a gift we should treasure year round.

I’m sure many of you have experienced that feeling of joy as you unwrapped a gift that you eventually only enjoyed for a short period of time then after a while began to lose it’s flavor and like many gifts was placed on a shelf hidden away. The gift God given to all of us is not one that will ever have this similar affect on you. Jesus is the most precious gift we could ever receive, His involvement and love in your life is one that will change your life forever.

John 3:16 reminds us that “For God SO loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

This precious gift is freely given to all who believe and accept Jesus into their heart. It is one that we should never take for granted. And unlike many other gifts rather than losing it’s flavor over time, this precious gift God has given to us flourishes and blossoms over time. God loves each and everyone of us and therefor wants a relationship with you that lasts a lifetime. It’s time to accept this free gift and let the love of God magnify through you!

Yes, Christmas is over but Jesus is very much alive and lives within your heart and speaks to us through His Word! Don’t wait for next Christmas to be reminded of this truth but start living today as though His birth is the greatest blessing and gift you’ve ever received because I guarantee you’ll never receive a gift that will impact your life as much as Jesus. He is the reason, not just for a season but for eternity!
